Joe Gibbs 00507 XP4 15W-50 Conventional Racing Oil - 1 Quart Bottle, Pack of 12 Feature

  • Case of 12 single 1 quart bottles
  • High Zinc and Petroleum (mineral) based racing oil
  • XP4 provides proven anti-wear protection in highly loaded valvetrains
  • XP4 delivers low cost protection for racers who don't want to use synthetic oil
  • Excellent for nitrous engines and dirt racers who need to change their oil frequently
Joe Gibbs driven racing oils are formulated specifically for racing engines. Today's passenger car motor oils are designed to protect catalytic converters. Joe Gibbs driven oils are designed to protect your camshaft. Federal EPA requirements have led to a reduction in anti-wear chemistries like Zinc, Phosphorus and Sulfur in API rated engine oils. As a result, the oil you buy today is not the same as it was 10 years ago. While this is good for your street car, it is bad news for your racing engine. Racing engines see more RPM and higher loads compared to street engines, so a racing engine requires higher levels of Zinc, Phosphorus, Sulfur and other additives to prevent premature part failure. This is especially true in flat-tappet engines. Joe Gibbs driven racing oil contains all of the correct additives, like Zinc, Phosphorus and Sulfur in addition to the highest quality base oils to protect your engine. The NASCAR championship winning formula protects flat-tappet engines at 9,000 RPM for over 500 miles of competition, and Joe Gibbs oils are used by other championship winning engine builders to conquer the grueling 24 hours of Daytona and the Baja 1000. We offer a variety of oil viscosities to fit various engine builds and operating temps.

Maximum Engine Break-in Protection

Joe Gibbs Driven oils are formulated specifically for racing engines. Today's passenger car motor oils are formulated to be compatible with your street car's emission control equipment, and Federal EPA requirements have led to a reduction in formulated anti-wear chemistries like Zinc, Phosphorus and Sulfur in API rated engine oils. As a result, the oil you buy today is not the same as it was 10 years ago. While this is good for your street car, it is bad news for your racing engine, especially perhaps during engine break-in. But Joe Gibbs Driven BR-30 formula does away with that.

Specifically designed for breaking in engines and flat tappet camshafts and lifters, Joe Gibbs Driven BR-30 Break-in oil, with a viscosity typical of SAE 5W-30, provides high levels of Zinc, Phosphorus and Sulfur in a mineral base oil providing your engine with maximum protection when it needs it the most. The BR-30 formula protects flat-tappet camshafts and lifters during break-in and it provides excellent ring seal. Combined with Joe Gibbs Driven Engine Assembly Grease, BR-30 provides the highest levels of protection for camshafts, lifters, wrist pins, distributor gears, push rods and valve retainers. BR-30 is also fully formulated and requires no EOS or other additives. Because it is a 5W-30, BR-30 works well in wet sump and low temperature applications. It also works well in OEM rebuilds and tight clearance applications and can be used for up to 2 hours of break-in/dyno time or 400 miles on the street before changing to an XP series race oil or Hot Rod oil.

Product Features

  • Same formula as original BR in a SAE 5W-30 viscosity
  • Petroleum oil provides the highest levels of zinc and phosphorus for flat-tappet engines
  • Additive package promotes ring seal and provides maximum protection available for cams and lifters during initial break-in
  • Requires no additional additives
  • Good for tight clearance and/or low temperature break-in
  • Compatible with methanol and high-octane race fuels

Applications/Instructions

  • Specifically designed for breaking in engines and flat tappet camshafts and lifters
  • Good for tight clearance and/or low temperature break-in
  • Good for restrictor plate engines, drag race engines, and OEM rebuilds
  • Combined with Joe Gibbs Driven Engine Assembly Grease, BR30 provides the highest levels of protection for camshafts, lifters, wrist pins, distributor gears, push rods and valve retainers

  • Protects against rust and corrosion while your car is in storage; modern ethanol blended fuels can draw moisture into an engine, which can lead to rust and corrosion, Joe Gibbs hot rod oils prevent that from occurring
  • Higher levels of zinc anti-wear to protect older style push-rod and flat tappet engines

  • Designed for Hot Rods, Classic Cars and Historic Racers

Joe Gibbs Driven 10W-30 Synthetic Hot Rod Oil is the ideal motor oil for all your hot rod, vintage, and classic cars. Flush with special anti-friction, anti-rust and anticorrosion additives, it provides dependable engine protection both while on the road and in the garage to older style push-rod and flat tappet engines in a 100% synthetic, NASCAR tested blend.

Unique, Synthetic High Performance Motor Oil

Today's standard motor oils are formulated to be compatible with your street car's emission control equipment, while federal EPA requirements have led to a reduction in formulated anti-wear chemistries like Zinc, Phosphorus and Sulfur in API rated engine oils. Although this is great for the environment and street cars, engines in many older, classic hot rods are best protected by the additional anti-friction qualities that oils featuring these mineral additives provide. That is where Joe Gibbs Driven Synthetic 10W-30 Hot Rod Oil comes in.

Joe Gibbs Driven synthetic 10W-30 Hot Rod oil is designed specifically for hot rod, vintage, and classic cars, especially those with older style push-rod and flat tappet engines. 100% synthetic, this unique high performance blend contains higher levels of zinc than standard motor oils. Active throughout the oil at the molecular level, zinc is naturally drawn to the carbon steel surfaces within your engine where with the addition of heat it reacts, creating an additional anti-friction coating that protects against possible metal-on-metal instances, even if the oil were to fail. In addition, Joe Gibbs Driven synthetic 10W-30 Hot Rod oil contains a special, military-grade additive that protects engines while they sit cold in storage and provides extra protection at startup. Taken together, this makes it the total motor oil protection that your classic ride needs.

Why Use Synthetic Oil?

Oil does more than just reduce friction and wear. It also serves as a vital coolant throughout your engine. Keeping parts cool and well lubricated enables parts to last longer, so the Joe Gibbs Racing team sprays oil on their valve springs, camshafts and pistons to keep them cool. The high temperatures on these parts would cause conventional oils to breakdown much faster than synthetic oil. The proof of this is in the fact that conventional base oils can handle up to 320°F operating temperatures, while synthetic base oils can handle up to 554°F operating temperatures. The improved thermal stability of synthetic oil provides increased oil longevity. These shear stable oils allow you to safely run lower viscosity oils that increase horsepower - without the danger of viscosity breakdown. Joe Gibbs Driven racing oils maintain their viscosity even after 500 miles of competition, so parts stay cool and well lubricated.

Product Features

  • Storage Protection - Uses the same oil additive technology developed for the US Military for storing and shipping their combat equipment, protecting against rust and corrosion so your engine is protected even when it's not running
  • High Zinc Content - Higher levels of Zinc (ZDDP) than regular passenger car oils delivering proper anti-wear protection for older style push-rod and flat-tappet engines
  • Camshaft Wear Protection - Superior camshaft wear protection chemistry that is found in Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil which has powered Joe Gibbs Racing to multiple NASCAR Championships
  • Synthetic Formula - The Joe Gibbs Driven synthetic formula provides improved cold-start protection compared to mineral oils
